Founded in 2003,
Thalìa SA is the competence center for Hedge Fund investments
of the Generali Group worldwide. The company is 51% owned by
BSI SA
(Switzerland) and 49% by
Generali
Investments (Italy).
Within this international group, Thalia represents the link between traditional asset management and alternative investments,
providing expert advice on hedge fund investments for all group subsidiaries and affiliates.
At the end of December 2007, Thalia was granted the status of authorised
Asset Manager in Switzerland by the Swiss Federal Banking Commission
(FBC). This important recognition falls within the regulatory framework
of the Federal Act on Collective Capital Investments (CCIA), which
defines the new category of Asset Manager, alongside the traditional
categories of Banks and Securities Traders. In accordance with the CCIA,
funds may only be managed by operators authorised by the FBC, including
the new category of Asset Manager.

On March 4, 2008, Thalia’s team received two international awards that certify the excellent results achieved by
Thalia’s Investment Team in managing the two winning investment vehicles:
GHFS SICAV Fixed Income Arbitrage (Class B in Eur) and
GHFS Sicav Event Driven (Class B in Eur).

2008 certifies the ability and the skills of the Portfolio Manager on the back of its results, its
persistency and its cost effectiveness.
With its headquarter in Lugano (Switzerland) and a presence in New York
and London, the company had approximately 3.344bn US$ under management
(April 2008), being one of the fastest growing investment companies in the Funds of Hedge Funds universe in Switzerland.
Thalia is currently portfolio manager for two Swiss authorized Funds of Hedge Funds – the BSI Multimanager Risk Fund and the BSI
Yield Enhancement – and for the Generali Hedge Funds Sicav (GHFS SICAV), anumbrella fund domiciled in Luxembourg for the management
of
9 single strategy funds of funds. Moreover, Thalia acts as advisor for the Italian authorized Funds of Hedge Funds of
Generali
Thalia Investments Italy SGR and for
Generali Thalia Investments France SAS, a company authorized by the AMF to operate in the Funds
of Hedge Funds area within the French domestic market. The new company is based in Paris and is 65% owned by Generali Investments,
25% by BSI and 10% directly by Thalia that serves as advisor in addition to its role as a founding shareholder.
